- Construction of a pattern made of wood, metal, or other durable material. In many cases we can use an existing part.
- A mold is then made by packing sand around the pattern. The pattern is then removed and the cavity is filled with metal.
- The casting is then left to solidify and cool.
- After cooling, the sand is broken off the casting and the casting is shaken out.
- Casting is then cleaned and ready for machining if necessary.
